Hydro-hot float, again!

So we are on a trip in Idaho, it's raining and cold but we feel warm and cozy parked and hooked up. The heater and Hydro-hot shuts off! Argh, what now? I check the board and see a message that the coolant is low, but it isn't. Long story shortened, a cold trip with no hot water, get home, take apart the Hydro-hot and find the float has fallen apart, again! It was just four years ago when the same fault occurred. The new float is $175 plus $25 shipping. Unacceptable but what can you do? I think I'll try to strengthen the new one when it arrives.

Older ones were plastic/nylon type. Doug

You must have a Aqua Hot over 20 years old. Current fluid level sensors are NOT a float, there are a pin type that is inserted into the fluid chamber. Have you contacted Vehicle Systems to see if you can use the current fluid level sensor? Doug
