Hi there, I’m curious about Bobcat Pass and pulling a travel trailer. Considering going around through Sante Fe. Anyone have suggestions or considerations??

Bobcat Pass should not be a problem for you. I've seen school buses and 18 wheelers on it without problems.

I've done NM 38 several times and never know there was pass. It's only about a 1000' rise from Eagle Nest.

That's a easy climb, just come down slowly into Red River as if I remember you come into town quickly. We did it in our Smart last summer, nice drive wide open and the climb did not bother our little Smart car at all. Curves were not bad at all either. Plenty of campers use that route

Done this route many a time. Never heard of "Bobcat Pass" and never noticed it when driving thru.

Is SR-38 a two lane highway? Is the grade posted? We don’t play with passes and grades much here in East Texas! ??

SR-38 (NM-38) has been 2 lane since, forever [emoticon] . I can't remember if the grade is posted but you wouldn't be driving 75 MPH. Like in East Texas. [emoticon]
