If you find the new 2500lp inverter generator let us know they are really hard to find right now. Cummins told me it will probably be January 2022 before they are plentiful and easy to find.

I would leave it as is.
Yes, it is a biggie to have a built-in over a portable, easy to just fire up at will. I would fire mine up and have AC or power whenever I wanted it, even for a rest stop lunch break, no way I would pull out a portable for such short use. Even if portable was permantly mounted and hooked up I would still have to go out and crank it, nahhh.

Live with what you have and then after a few months you will not need to ask for opinions, you will know that you know.
It is propane so that is good and bad, u need to have a bunch of tanks always, but propane burns a lot more clean that gasoline.
The noise level is all your call.
Being on the camper means vibration and the noise is closer, as opposed to a genny sitting on the ground far away, but it is also much more safe and unlikely to grow legs and walk away being mounted.

Takes me about 20 seconds to pull the cord to front-mounted Honda and do single pull to start it.
Never had a need to put battery for electric starter on it.
