Dometic 15 BTU ac cools but when it reachs set temp the run speed will decrease significantly but may not turn off. If I decrease the cool temp it starts to run normal again. Last October installed new thermostat and control box..Dometic single zone LCD thermostat Control kit.

Operating as designed. Mine works same. Just as dougrainer described above.

Sounnds normal. Mine does it as well. Kind of aggravating though. Sometimes it will cycle back to full speed pretty quick, and then back to low. Mostly does it during the day when it is really hot.

If set on Auto, it will run at hi speed and when it gets within about 3 to 5 degrees of set temp, it goes to LO speed. If left ON once it reaches the set temp the compressor AND fan will then shut off. Doug

From the Zone tstat manual. Link to your manual.

Auto Fan
When auto fan is selected the fan speed will vary depending on the
difference between the temperature set-point and the room temperature. In auto fan the compressor and fan cycle On and Off with the
thermostat.
When the difference is:
>5ยบ The fan operates on HIGH
<4ยบ The fan operates on LOW

Yes it could be. The fan never stops completely.
