Check the status of the Inverter/Charger while it's happening. It's probably charging your house batteries.

How frequent is the cycling. Nobody has ask that.
Running up and down every second is the air/fuel mix (Carb setting) on a gasoline generator

Running at low amprage for oh say 20 hours then Kicking up.. Progressive Dynamics Charge Wizard

Running low for oh say an hour then kicking up usually about 3 amps. Fridge auto switched to AC

There are more options too. (not sure of the fridge cycle time)

Home was where I park it. but alas the.
2005 Damon Intruder 377 Alas declared a total loss
after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios
Kenwood TS-2000, ICOM ID-5100, ID-51A+2, ID-880 REF030C most times

Its a Diesel Generator, not gas.

A generator will vary in speed based on electrical load. The alternator is trying to maintain the correct 60hz frequency needed for American standards. When an A/C is turned on, a mechanical resistance to the engine is created due to the magnetic resistance created in the rotor. The engine governor adds throttle to compensate for the drop in RPM.
3600 Rpm = 60 cycles per second. If the frequency drops the current (amperage) builds up along with heat. When the alternator reaches 3600 RPM voltage and frequency will be correct.
