Ask them if something happens and not even their fault is $6,000+ to fix are they going to pay? Because you do not have that kind of insurance.

So lots of good points and lots of sky is falling reactions and not enough info by the OP (generally the case here on this forum…) to even begin to formulate a decision by us, save for those that are so possessive or creeped out by someone else sleeping in THEIR bed. (Do you not use hotels either?)

Now to make the decision, what you haven’t included or even inferred,
Who’s truck?
Their experience towing and or running a camper?
How far?
How long?
How much do you trust her to do the right thing “if” it were to get damaged?

I have friends I’d let drive anything but my wife. And I also have friends, good friends, that I wouldn’t let on a bicycle I owned.

But it’s your decision ultimately, not ours. And everything isn’t doom n gloom. Plenty of RVs get used every day without getting messed up.
The majority of them, I’d imagine.

If they just want to go RV'ing someplace for a trip to try the RV lifestyle or something like that, another option would be for you to drive it there for them. I'd have no qualms about letting friends or family stay in the RV after I drive it there and set it up, I just wouldn't want to hand them the keys and send them on their way.

No matter how trustworthy she is, as soon as there is another person in the mix things go bad.

If he breaks something, then she is stuck in the middle. She either sides with him or with you. I don't put my good friends in that spot.

If they want to join me for a trip and learn the ropes, that's fine. But I would not rent it to them.

Also, some people think that if they rent and something goes wrong that their having paid a rental fee means they don't need to pay for the repairs.

Just tell them you don't enter into business arrangements with friends and you won't rent to them because you don't want to jeopardize friendship.

Or simply say No, as you said, you don't need to explain yourself.

Our thoughts don't matter in the grand scheme of things.
