Looking at purchasing a 24' enclosed for short trips and not having to pull the 5th wheel around.

I am in Socal and needless to say there is a mass shortage and extended wait times to purchase new. I have done some research and visited a few companies in the area. There are lots of companies but alot of them put out absolute junk that will fall apart in a few years.

Anyone have any feedback on brands they absolutely would buy again or particular manufacturers I should stay away from?

Thanks for the time
Joe

Long ways from SoCal, but MTI trailers out of TN is a quality low end trailer.
But that is of no use to you unless you plan on driving a couple 3 days.
It would be more productive if you posted the brands you’re considering since they’re generally regional mfgs save for the big name mfgs.

Haulmark, Kaufman, Continental (the Haulmark probably being the most available). Best open car trailer I ever owned was a Feather-lite, but I'm not sure if they make an enclosed trailer or not.

@grit dog - I thought of but it seems like they are just that local one plant stores. I am curious about Trailers Plus, as they are nationwide but don't offer any modifications or changes to their stock they receive.

I have had several of each. I currently have a Pace enclosed and a Featherlite open and both are excellent. I have had several enclosed over the years and yes they do make Featherlite enclosed which I think was the best. Avoid those with leaf springs. If you are using as a car trailer be sure to get an escape door on the drivers side. You will be glad you did.

Is MTI a trailer mfg or a dealer. I couldn't find an MTI trailer mfg in Tennessee. Interested in finding them because I too am thinking about purchasing one. thanks, Gary

My wife runs a construction company and couldn't get factory-built trailers to go with some heavy equipment that she just ordered. The trailers were backordered for months (like everything else), but she found a custom fab guy in Bakersfield who built the trailers for her in a couple of days at a decent price.

I'll hit her up for the shop's name and share it with you when I get it.

Sorry, not TN, it's Middlebury Trailer in Indiana. That is the manufacturer.
I only owned the one I bought for about 2 weeks, lol. Bought it, loaded it up and drove it cross country at 80-90mph and then sold it.
Things that stood out in a "bargain" brand trailer standard features.
-Full plywood wall lining,
-Engineered wood floor that very robust and supposed to be waterproof. I've bought numerous "budget" cargo trailers that needed another layer of flooring just to be acceptable for anything other than foot traffic.
-Side door, even on little trailers with heavy duty bar lock.
-Decent amount of stone/rock protection diamond plate
- Nice LED lighting, solid diamond plate fenders, standard interior light
- Picking color if you order one is no upcharge.
- Ramp door felt solid, no flexing

Here's the guy my wife used to fab up her equipment haulers. She is a tough judge and she said the guy did great work for a fair price.
