You're expecting this to be way too simple. Even very similar pick-ups will have different payloads due to having more or less options on the truck. Your C&C has a longer frame, possible a heavier frame, dual fuel tanks, a larger rear axle (I think, maybe not on a gasser), and they used to have a rear anti-sway bar that the pick-ups didn't get.
There are certain options that are absolutely not available on a C&C truck like satellite radio for instance. Your truck probably didn't come with a spare tire or a winch to hold it but a dually comes with both.
So, bottom line is, there are a lot of differences and you can't just assume anything.

A basic wt with cruise control, just lost 3lbs of payload vs brochure base eight. Factory brake controller may add another 3-5 lbs to base wieght, or a loss of 3-5 lbs of payload. Did you get ANY options at ALL. They may be the approx 100 lbs you are not finding. 4 power windows are 100 lbs. 26-35 lbs per door!
If I may, most trucks I've bought, have been within 20-40 lbs one way or the other from how speced, what they should wieght. Most scales read in 20 lb increments. You'll be off a fraction due to scale round up or down.
Look in glove box, or door frame and see if a camper load or max payload sticker exists. That's a better factory wieght number to work with vs brochure. I've only had ONE truck of a dozen thru the years close to that figure. It was a 2000 c2500 with 2 chargeable options. Auto trans, trim rings, and not chargeable, cloth seats. It wieghed maybe 60 lbs more than base config.

As I was out walking my pupster. i'm recalling that many of the 8 lug SW/DW rigs do not come std with a spare tire in the past. Did you order a spare, thats 60-80 lbs right there!!
Did you get one of the very basic option packages with AC, upgrade radio etc? thats potentially another 40-60 lbs of added weight, lost payload to your truck brochure payload!
Did you put after market spray on undercoating on your truck? Line-x on the steel bed? extended camper mirrors?
If the backup camera is an option.....that's 5-10 lbs of lost payload!
I'm sure that 100 lbs of missing payload are option(s) you are not including in your numbers.

If you have 4 power windows, theres your 100 lbs right there! 20-25 lbs per window for the four mechanisms.

Haha yep, thank you Marty, how we take stuff like power windows for granted. I even proudly tell people I have a bare bones W/T truck that I paid cash for but I forget that power windows is not really bare bones [emoticon]

Forget the 14k!!! Go by what your rear axle weighs ready to tow subtracted from your RAWR. That's basically your payload. Buy proper tonnage to cover your 6 tires, now you are good to go.
