"Taking off from a stop and turning it acts like it's in 4 wheel drive"

Have you aver changed your rear axle gear lube???

Jerry thanks for the kind words!!!

My rear grabbed like in 4wd and it was the OE lube was shot. Schlage to AMZ/OIL 75-110 Severe Gear and my troubles vanished.

Don't use OE lube it's JUNK and VERY expensive.

My truck does the same depending on how hard I am turning. For me, it is the torsen style LSD (anti-spin) locking up because the tires are spinning at different rates so it locks up the worm gear(like it should). Torsen LSD's generally abruptly lock up as opposed to the gradual lock up of clutch style LSD's. It does not do it in my brothers truck which is like my 2014 2500, but without the anti-spin diff. If I turn too sharp and too fast unloaded, it will chirp the back tires which is more pronounced due to my oversized tires.

I had same issue was told that’s normal. Plus, extreme front tire wear. Went two different dealers and wrote to Dodge customer Service sorry can’t help you. It got so bad that when just turning corner even without rv steering wheel pulled back and forth. Took it to third dealer and they replace steering gear and pump.
So far problem solved.

Extreme front tire wear is the factory tow in setting. To much toe in. Ron should have replied to that! He seldom misses the issue!! RON!

For my DRW my frame and axle guy said OE spec of 1/4” toe is WAYYYYY too much. Set to 1/64” toe and all your outer edge “stepping” woes will go away.

Rotate front tires ONLY by moving tires side to side leaving rotation the same. Tires need to be separated from rims to do so.

I bought 5 quarts of Valvoline full synthetic 75w-140 gear oil. Will let the dealer change it when I'm there next week for a oil change.

I would return it. That’s wayyyyy too heavy. Look in your manual.

I use AMZ/OIL SevereGear 75-110 because I tow 35k combined. The Dana axles used the heavy spec towing heavy.

You have a point. Manual says 75w-90. Guess I will go with that and see if it helps.
Thanks for your input.

Are you sure it is coming out of 4wd? Jack up one front wheel and see if it spins freely. Should Ram front hubs free wheel when in 2wd? (ie Does Ram use a auto lock hub like Ford or a constant locked hub like GM?)

Ram's 4wd system disengages the front axle completely when not in use unlike the Ford system which keeps the front axle spinning at all times, but locks the hubs when power to the wheels is needed.
