We seldom get into the steep roads like we did with the diesels so I guess this will be the last MH we will ever own.

Hmm, Just how old is your F53? They have had 4-wheel disks for years.
It is a 2016 Canyon Star 3911 handicap equipped. Dealer said it was not disc brakes. I have not crawled under to see. Sure does not stop like discs

It most certainly does have disc brakes all around. In 16 there was only Ford offering a class A chassis.

Since it is a 2022, Have you checked with Ford to make sure YOUR unit is not part of the Rear end recall? You need to. IF you are part, it was determined that Ford did not fill the Rear Differential with enough OIL and there is a nation wide Back order of NEW Rear ends that Ford is having to replace. AS of Friday, Tiffin had about 8 new built units on their lot that cannot be driven to the dealers because they must have the rear ends replaced. You are not allowed to drive the Motorhome as the rear end could fail at any time. Doug

Wouldn't be the first time the dealer didn't know what they were talking about.

If it has a Ford chassis, it has disk brakes. If it was driven any distance to the dealer, the brakes are broken in, and if it is fairly empty, the brakes should be touchy. Be carful doing a panic stop, you could end up with a seatbelt burn, it does stop the quickly, even with anti-lock brakes.

It was driven from Red Bay to Sanford, FL so it had 770 miles on it when I drove it off the lot. I’m sure if this chassis was part of the recall they wouldn’t have driven it but I will be sure to verify. The brakes are anything but touchy. I drove it empty and felt like I was trying to stop a train.

I just spoke with Ford Motor Home Customer Assistance and they ran my VIN and my unit is not included in the recall (PHEW!). We hit the road full timing 9/18 and are headed for Marathon Key (as long as there are no hurricanes headed that way). I need the maiden voyage to go smooth.

Have you tried stopping it like a panic stop? You really need to lay on the pedal.

We just picked up a 2007 F53 chassis moho. The brakes felt "different" from what I was used to, but they had no problems stopping it when called upon. I takes a fair amount of pedal to react, but after 1,100 miles towing 5,500 lbs, without the trailer it's a sports car......LOL.
