I'm having a hard time (or I'm just lazy) finding a news link that isn't pay-walled, but TV news outlets are reporting that ALL Forest Service lands in California are closed for the next two weeks or longer because of fire threats.
Here's one
Fresno Bee wrote: With fires raging across the state, the USDA Forest Service is closing all 20 million acres of California’s national forests to public access for two weeks beginning Tuesday.
In an announcement Monday, the Forest Service said the closure will extend through at least Sept. 17.
“I have made the difficult decision to temporarily close all (California) National Forests in order to better provide public and firefighter safety due to extreme fire conditions throughout the state, and strained firefighting resources throughout the country,” California’s regional forester, Jennifer M. Eberlien, said in an email to employees obtained by The Sacramento Bee.
This closure starts at noon Tuesday.
Those caught entering Forest Service lands — including developed campgrounds, hiking trails and recreation sites — typically face fines of up to $5,000 for violating closure orders.
If you have plans to camp in CA over Labor Day, check for closures.

Just a few days ago the Reno news announced that 9 US NF were closed immediately due to the fire danger including Tahoe and Plumas NF so no surprise they are now closing all the NF in California. I am sure it will include SP and county parks within those forest. It is for the best and safety of everyone.

Between the misunderstanding of the location and now the politics, this thread is a trainwreck now.

FIXED.
Please keep the politics out of this thread.
And yes, "CA National Forests" refers to California. Hopefully this makes sense now to the folks back in the cheap seats.

It's on the
Pacific Southwest Region 5 website.
Here is the actual order.
They appear to be taking this on a day by day basis. About a week ago, things were looking better, but this weekend a shift in the weather sent everything back.
For those of us with campground reservations for the rest of the year, we will likely see a refund by the end of the month unless these fires are quickly gotten under control - and with the weather bouncing up and down, I don't see that happening.

P.S. At this point the only NF in California not closed is the Humboldt-Toiyabe NF - because it is not part of the Pacific Southwest Region.

I just received my email this morning from recreation.gov.
To better provide public and firefighter safety due to the ongoing California wildfire crisis, USDA Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region is announcing a temporary closure of all National Forests in California. This closure will be in effect from Aug. 31, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. through September 17, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
“We do not take this decision lightly but this is the best choice for public safety,” said Regional Forester Jennifer Eberlien. “It is especially hard with the approaching Labor Day weekend, when so many people enjoy our national forests.”
Your campground reservation for the Klamath National Forest will be cancelled and a full refund issued.
