Went in to town yesterday and the road has a series of curves that generally prevent much passing. Ahead of me was a Class C RV followed by a semitruck. Speed limit is 55 but our pace was 40 to 45. After several places for the RV to move over the guy in the semi let loose on his diesel horn. Didn't phase the RV at all. Passed a few more places to turn out and the semi laid on his horn to no effect. Finally a place to pass and the driver looked like nothing wrong.
This is always a topic of concern but I don't know how you can go along in La La Land with a big semi on your tail with horn blaring.
It gives RV'ers a black eye and shows an extreme lack of common courtesy.

Many peoples idea of safe place to pull over is someone else’s idea of “hell no I’m not pulling onto an unknown possibly soft shoulder”!
Without knowing the specifics I won’t say yes or no.
I did that once in CO. I was slow going up a mountain. They had pullouts so I used one, never again. It was so rutted I thought I haws going to high center the MH.

Well, Bluedog, you have no insight into the person driving the RV. It could be someone who is new to driving an RV. Maybe it is the first time they were driving the RV in an area that has grades, and passing lanes, and the need to control speed. Maybe it was their first time on that road, with uncertainty of the lanes. When to move over? How long before I have to move back? Sometimes it may be best to stay the course if you are unsure. I feel some people should have more consideration, understanding, and compassion for other people. Possibly you, and the truck driver are the black eye?

I feel for the truck driver as they are working and need to get to the job etc. A few years back I was traveling up to Door County Wi doing the speed limit and there was a logging semi behind me. He was just not happy with me going to speed limit, he finially found a place to pass and boy did he there was no speed limit for him.
This year I traveled up I70 in CO going east and many many years back I remember semis moving all the way over to the right shoulder to help keep the other semis moving at good rpms. Boy this does not happen now I had to slow down once and thought I would never get the rpms up.
So my point is the world is changing, sit back and relax. We may not like what we see but then do we really know the reason.

I think the issues is driver awareness. The driver should be aware that they are impeding ttaffic and do what they can to improve traffic flow vs. being oblivious to the fact that there is a line of traffic behind them.
In some cases a pull off maybe available in some cases there maybe no way to allow the traffic to pass.
However the offending driver will never find a pull off if they are aware they are impeding traffic and not looking for a way to let the traffic pass.
A good driver will be aware and couteous vs. unaware or stubborn.
Often the driver does not believe they are impeding trafic or they believe it is OK for them to impede traffic regardless of the situation.

C'mon man, semi behind you laying on the air horns, 10 - 15 mph under the speed limit, most people can put two and two together and figure out what the problem is. It's downright rude to be driving 15 mph under the speed limit in normal conditions.

IN every field there are rump holes and there are good guys.
If I was driving "Carefully" (And below the limit) and started to see I had a "Following" I'd find a wide spot on the shoulder and pull off and let 'em pass.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

after a semi "nicked" it. Still have the radios

Interesting topic...
I drove e big rig and fully understand where the driver was coming from.. We all were also new to driving at 1 time, BUT I could never run 15 mph UNDER the limit without worrying about people behind me.
If you wanna do 15 under, look for spots to pull over and allow folks who are not afraid, or are not having issues pass you.
Sometimes people have to live OUTSIDE THEIR world.
