I prefer to shut off T/H, and use manual mode for lengthy downhills. Otherwise, every time I tap the brakes, due to lots of curves, it will down shift more than I want. I can also lock out upper gears, restricting the use of 6-5 or even 4th if needed.

Just noting that Ford did not include Select Shift in the F53 chassis until just recently along with introduction of the new 7.3L V8.
