I really do not want another dome. Is this something that someone has done or am I looking at a mod that cannot work? Would welcome any other ideas. And I replaced only my outer (after setting something on it and popping a large hole in it). If you remove both inner and outer, and then place a flat sheet for the outer, you will have the roof support exposed, which wouldn't look good. There is an inner dome, as was mentioned, but in my case it did not stuck up above the roof, so a flat sheet could have worked. But frankly it would have looked bad. Only needed the cover and not the whole skylight. This one fit perfectly and was of very high quality. Mine is over the shower and I wanted less light so got the smoke colored one but during the day it hardly makes any difference. They have many different sizes and styles. Green mold will collect there unless you build a curved dam on each end of the flat plastic sheet and wrap it over the dam so the center is higher than the edges.
