Howdy,
I have searched the forums and could not find a discussion on this; so I have a quick question. Do I have to replace my fuel filter with the OEM for my ONAN 5500 MARQUIS GOLD, or can I use a simple generic in-line fuel filter?? Thank you for helping.

If you're going to eliminate the original OEM filter you should be okay with the generic in-line filter.
If you leave the original filter in place, I would install a new one and change the in-line filter on a regular basis.
On my Onan 5000 I changed the original fuel filter on a regular basis. I never had any filter problems.

Why do you want to go to a different filter? While I have a larger Onan, I've stayed with the original filter changing it every couple of years.
