Nice photos. I shared the link with my sister who can't get out much due to physical and health issues; she loves to see places like this.

As nice as the autumn aspens look, I can't help wondering if you like aspens so much because you don't have many sugar maples out your way! [emoticon]

Once again, a great trip report. It brought back many memories of our trips to the North Rim, much less crowded and way underrated, but that's ok. Glad you were safe from the blowout. Thanks for noting the make of your tires too as an example that no matter the brand, 'that' can happen.

I hope you physically heal from your fall. I did the same and it took a year for my hand that took the blunt, to heal and my shoulder is still feeling it.

Thanks for the kind words! And Mike, you are exactly right -- there is very little colorful fall foliage in Southern California. So that's why we head out in search of aspen groves during the fall.

Maple would be nice, too, but we are three thousand miles away from Vermont!

Cal, if I recall correctly, there are road signs out that way saying that trailers are not allowed, which excludes me. I could be wrong about that.

Plus there are no aspen trees, so that settles it. [emoticon]

Your Smokey mascot is great! There is a sticker of Smokey on the Tiger's stove hood. It was given to me by the ranger at a roadblock somewhere in the western Sierra on my first Tiger trip and has remained in position for 15 years so far.

So many aspens.... but a great TR anyway. Thanks for sharing it.
