You are going to fit right in at truck stops and rest areas but will be limited at RV parks.

Too big for me. I try to stay below 40' and usually can find a spot, but some places are snug, and I'm at 38'. To me 45' would make navigating some campgrounds a real challenge. They might have a spot, but getting to it could be the tough part.

We stay mainly in public campgrounds during the summer without reservations and recently went from a 42’ to a 45’ MH. Only once in 17 years has this not worked out for us as we know better than to go in on Friday hoping to find a site long enough. Last summer I made sure we arrived at our favorite small USFS CG outside of Rocky Mountain on Thursday at 9 AM… By noon there were no sites available. It was our first night in Colorado as normally we arrive late Sunday or Monday to get a site.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

45? That's huge. You'll need a Freightliner to pull it! Like others have said, you will really limit the places you can get reservations.

A 45' RV could present you with availability issues and the number of sites size to fit a 45' RV. There could be problems of availability in some county parks, state parks, and older RV parks. Recommend you call well in advance to make sure an RV Park has sites for 45' long RVs. and what is the availibility at the dates you plan on being there.

Its rare a state will check a rv combo length but my state has a 65' max combination length truck-trailer) and a 40' rv trailer total length including the hitch.
I see long bus type MHs pulling long bumper pull enclosed trailers that look to be over 30' long.
Other states you travel through may have similar length limits.

We have decided to stay at or below 40ft.
We now have a new 32fT TT.
We will get a new tow vehicle soon, pay closer attention to the campgrounds we like this summer and plan on a 5th wheel for Fall.

I've found that when a state or local park has all of the sites the same length somebody just got lazy setting up the website. Call the park, the staff knows which sites are longer.
