Has any one ever found a motor replacement that is considerably quieter than the normal exhaust motor in the range hood? I cook a ton when I fish and camp and after a while that fan will drive us out of our minds. I've taken some advice and tried to use the roof exhaust but it doesn't work all that well. I'm looking for just replacing the motor not the disassembly of the whole unit sort of a plug and play if there is such a thing. Thanks in advance, Joe

Noise is a combination of motor, fan blades and exhaust chamber. The shape and size of the fan blades is typically the biggest factor. Maybe look at a variable speed control for your current motor?

YES, adding a PWM controller is about the best for reducing fan speed & noise and still maintain enough air flow to evacuate. I replaced our 18 year old motor and blade which was slightly quieter but it was adding the variable speed controller that made it not so atrocious.

Fans will be always noisy.
Observe that high-end household hoods use blowers instead. Those are much quieter, but rebuilding factory hood to accommodate blower would make whole project.

I installed a 6" computer fan and it is very quiet now. Make sure that the one you get is 12 volts.

I did the same thing . It is not as powerful as the original but only draws about 0.5 amps instead of 3+ amps like the original . It gets rid of the steam from making coffee or pasta on the stove and is very quiet .

The DC controller linked is only rated at 1 amp max. Not positive I remember correctly but seems our little can motor draws 1 1 /2+ amps. Just verify
The motor linked as what you have, looks like an AC motor?

I have also installed computer fans in our TC as well in our ORV trailer.
My feet are fine as long as they are traveling.
