Thanks all this has helped a lot, will make it much easier to plan. The state parks in FL panhandle that we've stayed in before were pretty much filled your ideas will make things a lot easier and more options!

If you're retired or disabled vet, most military bases have FamCamps that are pretty nice. Or if you are an Elk several lodges have electrical hook ups that are nice for a night over. And both are cheaper than most private parks.
Also check out Fort Pickens on Santa Rosa Island. They seem to have some opens in Jan/Feb.
Our 2351D Phoenix Cruiser, Jack, has turned us from campers into RVers and loving it!

Dauphin Island Alabama. City owned campground, many sites with FHU and 50 amp. Many things to see and do, close by. Spent 4 nights down there in early November.

Operation of the campground is being shifted jan 1st from the Park and Beach Board to the Town Board. Campground employees were elated and looking forward to improvements and much needed repairs. Decent campground however, I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Thanks for ideas - have stayed in some fancamps before - had overlooked that. Also, not familiar with Dauphin Island AL will check out - few years back stopped into Gulf shores State Park as was in the area - amazing all booked up, although huge camping area. About 4 years ago we were able to just travelin FL and stop into state parks without reservations - now everything is filled. Did find a stop in Ft. Pickens -
