There are a bakers dozen F350/3500 diesel 4x4 crew cab trucks within 150 miles of me under $70k, all of them are SRW. Is that a lot compared to the 46 3/4 ton trucks meeting the same search, nope but not exactly unobtainable.

I want super singles tucked under the SRW fenders instead of a dually. Going to be a bit narrower between the wheel wells and that is fine by me.

How about a C-15/C-16 tucked under the hood of a F350.....
Deboss Garage is putting a 3126 under the hood of an F350. Not quite a C15 but still a Cat... Look under #FTreeKitty.
He must be doing it just to see the yellow paint under the hood of the Ford. Nothing really to be gained with that motor, any of the big 3's stock diesels have way more power and torque than a Cat 3126. That motor is pretty comparable size and power wise with my old 7.3 Powerstroke.

How exactly does fewer options make the world a better place?
If you want a dually, buy a dually.
If you want a SRW 1 ton, buy one.
If you want a 3/4 ton, buy one.
This isn't 30yrs ago when you would have to go to each individual dealer and ask for the specs on various options when it came time to purchase. It's easy to get them on the internet.
Fewer options makes the world a better place by simplifying the buying decision. So many times they recommend here "Don't get a 3/4 ton, get a 1 ton SRW, it's the same thing and for a few hundred dollars more you get more payload blah blah blah..."
Except in my experience 1 ton SRWs are far and few between. In normal years dealers tend to have one or two DRWs, several 3/4 tons, and a whole gaggle of 1/2 tons. Nary a 1 ton SRW to be found, leaving most people trying to follow that advice feeling confused and betrayed.
It also eliminates about 50% of the arguments from this website. "Only difference between 3/4 and 1 ton SRW is a leaf in the springs" "No it's noooooot!" "Is toooooooo!"
Wouldn't the world be a better place with less conflict?

Now GM is doing the same game with their 3500 srw trucks with 18 different gvwrs. Some like a 11025....11050...11100....but starts at 10000 gvwr on up to 12450 gvwr.
RV website police will have fun with all the different payloads for the same exact 3500 srw truck.
I have no issues with some 3/4 tons trucks having more usable in the bed payloads than some/same spec'd one ton srw trucks.
Just more gvwr/gawr options we have to choose from as we all have different size truck needs.
DRW vs SRW .....sure need a dead horse picture clicky.

LOL! By the time they beefed up to hold the weight, added the engine, you would likely be over the class 3 weight.
Easier would be replace the cab on a class 8. But if you showed up at a CG towing a large camper some would get panties in a wad because the fender emblems where overloaded.
