My apologies for waking up an old post.
Has anyone stayed at the Jimmy Buffet park in Pigeon Forge? I am considering it as back-up to another park in the area. The rates are competitive-ish considering all of those parks are charging near $100 /night. It appears to be further off the road than most and the amenities seem plenty to keep my pre-teens occupied. Being new isn't bad so long as it isn't unfinished. Nothing worse than seeing all of the things that WILL be fun in the future while the kiddos track the mud in from where the grass should be. The lack of pictures on their website leaves me a bit concerned to its current state of completion.

At least someone is building RV parks.
We rode through the Pigeon Forge park in May and it is finished. Nice but expensive. Great location.

I live in the area and have not driven through as yet. My curiosity is piqued and I may just go drive through it to see for myself. There are so many choices in campgrounds here it's hard to pick one that suits your needs. Obviously you want things for the kids to do and not have to go too far for them to do it when you at the site. Last I heard the arcade is open as is the adult lounge. When are you coming down? I'll see if I can check it out soon. I moved from Mich 9 years ago and love it here.

Thanks for the update. We're looking towards the end of August. We're trying to hit a ![[emoticon]](https://forums.goodsamclub.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/doh.gif "doh") weet spot" (if one exists) between the end of summer wind down and the start of school. It is a last minute trip replacing a longer trip out west spoiled by business travel and a juror summons. If you happen to cruise through the park I'd be glad to hear what you see!
I sometimes dream of the day when we move from Michigan, but then summer comes and I forget all about it... until February comes again... Nonetheless, glad you love it there, it certainly is a beautiful place.

Staying away from resort type RV parks, defeat our purpose of Rving independence. Disney was $85 per night back in 2005 Fort Wilderness, it was fun and worth it. Do it once but never again.

Unfortunately that's Econ 101. It's crazy that the demand keeps outpacing the supply so much.
Give it another 3-4 months or so of this economic BS we're being told is nothing to worry about and see if the demand is still outpacing supply. I know quite a few folks in financial hurt as I type this. How many reasons have been given now for energy prices going through the roof officially? 6?, 8?, 10? I'm being conservative on the number. How many other individuals have been blamed LOL. Every day it's a different line of sheet. You can't even hardly discuss it without going down a political road.

Please understand that I am NOT proposing that a motel stay would be a better choice by any means, but where is the justification to spend the same money for a slab of concrete as for a decent motel room, that probably comes with a free breakfast to boot!??

Seems to me you are getting more than “a slab of concrete”. You are getting a very nice resort style experience! Let’s see that happen at the motel 6!

In our younger days,when the kids were young and camping with us. We might’ve thought about it for the kids experience. Now days we want pice and quiet. We love “ Up The Creek “ in Pigeon Forge, but the way it’s building up there we’re looking for somewhere else. Maybe Townsend or even Ashville, or even maybe Maggie Valley.

Check out Up The Creek in Pigeon Forge. No special RV Resort type stuff, but a beautiful park and very well maintained.
