I think a chassis mounted camper would be a class D. But since it comes off, it is just a truck camper.
One thing that really opens up possibilities in floor plans is the side entrance, and getting the floor above the wheel wells. Personally, I could have a pretty good floorplan that way without the slides, which I would prefer. The basement campers already have the floor above the wheel wells, but they run into the pickup truck bed. I've considered the possibility of sectioning the bed Texas Welder style to do that they did.

There are plenty of F550 and Ram 5500 based Cs that have 4 low, but much like this monster of a truck camper setup, they are so big and have so much rear overhang you will be hopelessly stuck long before 4 low will do you any good.

a class C is a motor home, so part of the definition is you can stand up from your drivers seat and go to the bathroom with out going outside, or get the wife to make you a sandwich so you can eat while driving ![[emoticon]](https://forums.goodsamclub.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/biggrin.gif "biggrin") . people called the old frame mounted truck campers motor homes becasue they looked like it and acted like it for all intensive purposes except one. the cab of the truck was totaly seperat from the rest of the unit, so you had to go outside then into the camper door to get into the camper part.

A lot of the smaller Class B & C can be had with AWD. They (or this variation) aren't really suitable for serious off roading, so low range isn't that critical.

No, to me it was too general of a statement to say if it doesn't come off go with a C.

I wish he had gone with a 84 inch CA chassis. LOVE the slides, they help a lot during bad weather.
I see it has jacks on it, does this thing come off?
