I love my Solid Step especially the 13" top step that is like a landing when stepping down and rock solid.
It takes maybe 10 seconds to sweep them before closing up.

The solid steps are not for me. There are too many places where I wouldn't be able to get in, like at the storage yard or at a gas station. Virtually every gas stop someone needs to get in for some reason. We can just climb in without pulling the steps out. Tough to do with solid steps. And there's the whole clean up thing. I know it isn't a huge deal, but it's just one more thing to deal with. I have enough things to deal with already.
I do plan on getting the Torklift steps though. My wife has a funky hip & I can get the Torklift with an additional step.

Our daughter has Solid Step stairs on her RV and they are a pain in the rear. Where they store the unit, if someone is parked next to them, they cannot get the stairs down to get in the trailer. They have to hook up to the truck and pull the rig forward. With the old rig and the regular folding steps, they cold fold them out and get into the rig.
For me, they are a deal killer as if there is dirt on them, it is dumped inside the RV.

I installed Solid Steps on my TT. I love em. However I also have two entry doors. I would never put them on a single door 5th wheel. %th wheels sit high off the ground like our TT does. That means you need a minimum of 3 steps and probably 4. That makes the arc to drop them down longer and they will stick out further. The other drawback is pulling off the side of the road and wanting to use the head or grab a bite. If the 5er's not close to level then you have to fiddle with the steps so they deploy right.
Not so with my two door TT. We just use the front entry door when on uneven ground or tight situations.
The other drawback is you once you're backed into your spot you can't get into the 5er until it's level and set up or you risk tweaking the steps.

Forget the solid steps that have several issues. Replace your flimsy POS steps with a set of these. VERY solid with only 1/2" deflection with me @ 200# standing on the bottom step. I have had these for 4 years and they still look new and we are full-time. NO WAY you will slip on these!

In all your post you are not one to go cheap.
Get a set of real Torxlift glow steps. They will look the same as those fake torxlift's you posted. But they will actually be totally stable because they will be supported by the ground.

The ones that came on our DRV were steel sand same quality and sturdiness. Our steps encountered a concrete light pole base(OOPS). So I was happy to find these with the aluminum and anti skid that just made them better!

Not sure who you are talking to???
I was asked by TorkLift to try out a set and was told I could keep them if I would give my honest opinion.. I declined but IMHO they are nice quality but I love what I have.

Back when we had the 4 step cantilever style, we had to adjust every time because I would put a couple aluminum jack stands under the last step because they flexed so much otherwise.
