We have now decided to cancel any plans on long range RV travel for the foreseeable future! Still have some plans for trips within 200 miles but the rest is now on hold. Looks like fuel costs and availability has caused me to lose confidence in being able to get home!! The bubble may have busted on the run a way demand for RV's. Wish I had not spent all this money on a new 5th wheel and tow vehicle!!!!!

There will be many in your situation. This is why we down sized until we got too small then upsized one notch. Didn't really need the larger RV and smaller is easier to manage.

We have a 7 to 9 week zig zagging cross country BC to Quebec City tour in the planning stages. Lots of relatives to visit and terminating in Quebec City. Starting after the may long weekend and terminating in old town Quebec. Our tow vehicle is electric so the gas prices won’t have direct affects. The indirect affects of everything from food to campgrounds will still apply. We are starting to think that finding campgrounds won’t be a problem. And the highways might be quieter. Guess we’ll see. Like a Bgum, we downsized. Now in an 18 foot teardrop type trailer. Cosy. ![[emoticon]](https://forums.goodsamclub.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/smile.gif "smile") .

I’m going but shorter distances like many of you.

Cheers all. Your tow vehicle is electric?? I don't understand how this will work even with a teardrop. Towing anything uses more power according to what I have read. Show a picture or description of your rig.

Shorter distances for sure and probably longer stays at whatever campground I might be in!!

It’s a Tesla model Y and [email protected] trailer. Yep. Range is definitely affected. Typically half of normal range is a good number to use. But we usually tour camp and hike a lot so we are usually only on the road a couple hours a day (and sometimes much shorter) as we try to get a hike in after setting up. We used to have a grand Cherokee so we are kinda used to towing with an SUV without a lot of range. .

We have a trip planned for later this month and into next month. 3000 miles. Cost considerations are serious enough, but probably still do-able. My biggest concern is supply. We were in Raleigh last year when that east coast pipeline got shut down by a hacker. People were panic-buying, and there were a couple days when I wondered if I'd be able to get home. That experience has me wondering if it's wise to travel this year. Heartbroken. But it's nothing compared to what our Ukranean brothers and sisters are going through.

It's just Mrs. SpeakEasy and me now (empty-nesters). But we can choose from among 7 grandchildren to drag along with us!

$4.00 Diesel is my limit. We canceled our return to the location we volunteered at the last two years.
We are looking for a position a 1000 miles closer. I feel most traveling will be closer to home for most.
