Does anyone tow with the 6.6 gas , how is the towing experience. What size camper do you have

I had a 2020 Reg cab Dually with the 6.6 gas. I towed 15k+ of round hay bales on a gooseneck trailer. No problems. I towed my 10k travel trailer without problems. I also towed my trailer to Iowa and back with an Express with the 6.0, and 3.42 rear axle.

Would expect it to do fine with the trailer you list, but have to ask,,,,, why the change?
If diesel prices are the driving reason, don't expect a gasser to save much money, MPG will drop, offsetting the reduction in per gallon cost.
Trade in value recovery of initial cost of your Duramax will not be as great now as a year ago because the extra fuel cost are already having an impact on the used market.
And just as it was 8-10 years ago, regime change in DC will happen, and circumstances will AGAIN change.

The emissions problem’s with the modern diesel is a pain!Fuel cost has nothing to do with my thinking.

Agree with Busdriver. Emissions are crazy on modern diesels. When something breaks (not if) it gets expensive really fast. Love the performance of the diesel (whichever brand flavor you like) but my next truck will be a gas version.

I have a 2020 Silverado 2500, CC, 4x4, short bed, 6.6 gas. Tow a small Grand Design toy hauler @8400 lbs with no toy in it. It’s 12’6” tall and have gotten as little as 6 mpg towing against a head wind to 9 under good conditions. Empty with flat ground, no headwind, cruise control under 60 it will get 20 mph. These conditions are rare, but it will do it. Haven’t been in any real mountains, but towed in north central Alabama and it did fine.
