Cooking with wind on Blackstone

Just got a 17" Blackstone to replace our Coleman. All good, but on a windy day, I couldn't get it hot enough to cook anything. It was an issue with the Coleman, but just took a bit longer. The gap between the burner and griddle is significant. I tried to block the wind, but it just didn't work.

Ideas?

I use a simple aluminum flashing from the hardware store as a wind block. Cheap and works as well or better than anything "designed".

Well good to know I am not the only one having this issue. Funny I never saw any info on this when I was investigating the Blackstone. Should have known to just look on Amazon. Thanks for the info.

I checked on that website. What they have is good for a front grease tray. Did not find anything for a rear grease tray.

Check Amazon they sell wind screens for Blacstone Grills

Tape 3 large pieces of cardboard together to surround the sides and back to block the wind. Once you have a good size replace with sheet metal.

Go to home depot or lowes and get a 1 inch flat aluminum bar and rivet or screw it to the sides of the unit. Not the flat top.. Don't put any in the back. Works best if you have a lid.
