From what I've seen, and personally experienced, Palomino RV is the bottom of the Forest River barrel.
I have a burn barrel in my yard.

Palomino RV Makes a number of products that are inexpensive, like truck campers etc and that’s more of where negative comment comes from. From what I’ve seen Columbus has a good reputation. And of course River Ranch is their flagship! The 2023’s mark the 3ed year for River Ranch and I’d be very surprised if QC doesn’t go up with it.

From what I've seen just about every RV from any brand built since covid, especially so anything that comes from the big players, is an absolute joke when it comes to build quality. Way worse than prior and that is a hard thing to accomplish. Add to that the amount of Lippert junk they cram into them. But keep hoping. Unless the RV Industry makes wholesale changes to the way they operate good luck seeing any QC going up. To do that you first have to have some QC to begin with.

My coach has been with the Columbus service center the last few months. They took care of why it was sent up there. And the other PDI issues they found. One guy said “You’ll end up with the best built River Ranch there is”! I don’t drink, but I’ll drink to that!
And I agree with you, the build quality of late has been very poor. I saw a video of a new VanLee Beacon and was amazed at some of the shoddy workmanship. And they’re a high end coach

I agree, why is it that the workmanship is so bad, in any other industry you would get fired for the type of work I have seen on a lot of RVs, have you ever looked at the wiring? look behind your breaker box or go under the RV where it goes up to the breakers. looks like a 5 year old wired it

Shoot, the 2019 trailer I've got now has wiring that isn't any different from the 2010 trailer I had. Although there is a lot more of it.

Hi cj99, What you mentioned about the wiring, are you talking about your River Ranch or RV’s in general? I was told the wiring in the RR is very easy to get too and is easy to work on because of the full basement. Is that right? Another guy said it’s an excellent 4 season coach. Do you agree with that? He has the 3 roof airs. And the 12 gal water heater.

I mean RV,s in general have poor wiring ( workmanship not the wire itself ) . I have had many Rvs over the past 30 years and have never seen one wired like a pro did it.
Yes the river ranch full basement helps a lot , I have spent time in mine I'm doing a solar & battery upgrade now on it.
I have the 1 basement AC system and would say there is a reason they went back to a 3 roof air system. The basement air is undersized for this size RV if you live in the south. ( in my opinion) The front bedroom is always hotter. Also, the on-demand water heat is a pain. because every time you shut it off even for a sec. you have to wait for hot water to make it all the way back to you and you get a big slug of cold water. that is when it does not go beep beep beep which means it failed to lite because the water heater did not see the flow, etc
I have now stayed 1 full Pennsylvania winter in it . And it held up well. you still have to do the normal stuff like a heated water hose and cover your drain hose so it doesn't freeze .. but no issues inside. I will say you can feel the cold come through the windows pretty good so I was going to put seal plastic on them but never did.

don't get me wrong I like my River Ranch ( now ) , it's just when we got it we were out of town and need to stay in it simi-longterm and you cant just take it to a dealer and drop it off to get stuff fixed when you're living in it. Plus nowadays if you drop off an RV to get fixed there going to have it for months. I had issues with my stove quit working my AC broke and I had to go through an entire HOT Humid summer in PA with a portable AC unit. it was just a pain at first
try living in a RV with no stove or AC
