I would much rather have a GMC with a 6.2 vs the new turbo plagued ugly as sin Toyota Tundra.

Having said that I know someone who has a new 2021 Tahoe that had to have the lifters replaced due to a surging problem this year.

I am driving a Ford F150 because the GM lifter issues and Hemi cam issues.

How do you feel about the EcoBoost cam phaser issues?

The root cause for the Hemi cam issue is the lifters fail first and then take out the cam.

How would ya change out that lower belt?
Dealer will gladly do it.

Welp, if it's like every other LS motor I've worked on, remove the big serpentine belt and then remove the little one behind it.
Took me all of about 20 min to replace both belts, last time. (FWIW, they were fine, but 20 years old, replaced them along with a full maintenance on an old vehicle we bought)

The better question would be why is that a concern and how many serpentine belts have you actually had to replace in the last 25+ years?

Agreed, this is likely why we still haven't seen a gas engine with forced induction in a 2500/3500 series pickup yet. Ford has put the Ecoboost V6 in the Transit for some time, even the 11K GVWR version. So it's not impossible, although the Transit's GCWR is much lower than the pickup. It will be interesting to see if Stellantis uses the Hurricane engine for its 2500/3500 trucks, keeps the 6.4 Hemi, or drops the gas engine altogether.

Best in class towing? Isnโ€™t the ford with the 7.3/4.30 rated higher than that? Or is this a half ton?

I believe it is for 1500 series trucks, GM's new 2500/3500 series gas engine is a 6.6. I did notice the caveat in "Best in class V8 towing". Among the big 3, it does have the best V8 tow rating, by a very small margin. What they left out is that the best overall 150/1500 series tow rating (only 400 lbs more) is held by a V6 with slightly more than half the displacement of the GM L87 V8.

With an *

This is for 150/1500. And it says "V8 Towing", so it would imply that it doesn't compare to an EcoBoost, which can tow up to 13,200 pounds.

I'm not saying it is a bad engine. But it is pretty dated now.

Probably from underneath the truck. It looks like there's 3 belts.
1. Water pump and alternator (Remove first from top)
2. AC compressor (Remove second from bottom)
3. Power steering pump (Remove third from bottom) Not 100% this is a power steering pump based on the looks
