My wife ordered the free COVID-19 test kits from the federal government and their made in China the country that gave the world COVID-19!!! Unbelievable.

Quite frankly, I'm just grateful for their availability. Our son found out he was positive for Covid, after spending the day with Ed. Son feels fine - Ed (so far) is still negative. Going to town for a test would be a 60-mile round trip.

Our first set were iHealth kits made in China, and our second set were Abbott Labs BinaxNOW kits made in the US.

Shouldn't come as a surprise. Haven't heard of any issues with any kits, no matter where they come from.


I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams

RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

The problem I see with them is they sure do seem to have a short shelf life.

The other issue I’m aware of is the storage temperatures could be exceeded in shipping depending on where the shipment is kept (on a tarmac between flights, in a hot truck at a depot, etc). For example the BinaxNOW states “store kit at 2-30°C” (86F).
