No. I added an extra sensor to that when I put sensors on my trailer.
Ok, thanks. I didn't remember and am getting my sensor batteries replaced when I get new tires this week. Appreciate it!

With Ford you need a key like thingamajig you place on the end of the crank rod to engage the gear that lowers the tire. Does RAM need one. I need to search the track to see if these spare tire tools are in ir somewhere/ Where are those kept? Under the rear seat??
Back to the question of needing a "key" to lower the spare, not on mine. One of the 4 sections of rod that get connected have a 5 sided open end that engages the stud on the crank mechanism. The one for the Ram is a square that is about 1/2".

Oiling the cable does nothing. The cable pulley is sandwiched between 2 steel plates. The shaft sticks in the plates. This is where you need lube.

I had a cable break while towing my fifth wheel, got lucky and didn’t break anything on the trailer. Inspect carefully!

I had a oh chit moment when I recently tried to lower my spare tire, but couldn't get the long handle to engage the rotating gear box to lower my spare. Needless to say, I need to go back and figure this out before I need it on the side of the road with a flat tire.

Post that again when you see one looking like it's been in Salt Lake for 2 years. But your additional thought is a good one.

ZACTLY, I just lowered my Dad's spare to change out the rear shocks and it's square for sure on his 14 3500 RAM.

I got a Dorman spare tool kit, there was a 30 inch extension rod but the shipping time was too long. I'll crank the spare down today or tomorrow and lube everything. Thanks for the replies

Nice how you assumed I had no idea what rust is. You must be a joy to work with.

^Oh fer fcks sake, guy asked about getting a spare tire tool and you’re arguing about whether the sky is blue….I’d say grow up but you’re probably both eligible for AARP and maybe SSI.
