Not the jack, I may need the rod you use to lower the spare. With Ford you need a key like thingamajig you place on the end of the crank rod to engage the gear that lowers the tire. Does RAM need one. I need to search the track to see if these spare tire tools are in ir somewhere/ Where are those kept? Under the rear seat??

That's where mine should be, but aren't, since we bought the truck used. Oops. But a 1/2" socket extension reversed will work. And they sell just the tool on Ebay for a few bucks.

When you get the rod use it to make sure the hoist isn't bad. Lower it, oil the cable, and raise it back up to make sure that it works.
A lot of them have failed, we replaced them frequently as our shop was near the beach and they rusted sometimes solid.
You also need to inspect the tire for size and age, who knows what is under there. The tire valve should be pointed down so it's pressure can be checked occasionally. You don't need more than one flat at a time.

No. I added an extra sensor to that when I put sensors on my trailer.

Spare? Not any 4th gens I’ve seen. Ever.
But I just wish I could use my tpms. I had to delete the reading from the screen so as not to get the tire pressure warning to pop every time it’s started…stupid tpms limits. The tuner that unlocks the ECM for the real tunes will do that but not adjust the pressure thresholds.
I could spend the money to get an Autel scanner or something to lower the limits. But that’s a couple hundred bucks to overcome the issue. So I just deal with the tire light.

Back to the question of needing a "key" to lower the spare, not on mine. One of the 4 sections of rod that get connected have a 5 sided open end that engages the stud on the crank mechanism.
