There might be a newly-created meteor shower on Monday evening. It's a gamble (see article below), but if you are already boondocking under dark skies, what have you got to lose?

Thanks for the good wishes, memtb, but we are stuck in Southern California this week -- perfectly clear skies, but the worst light pollution in the country (and maybe the world). On a good night, we can see the Big Dipper or Orion (in the winter).

But it is never dark enough to see meteors. And we have to drive several hours to get to a place where the Milky Way is visible.

That's why we usually boondock, if at all possible -- to make up for all of those nights without stars.

Was looking forward to it from the time we first heard about it! But, it’s not in the cards……we’re under a “winter storm watch”, and very overcast! Pretty bummed…..but we’re getting some very much needed moisture!

I hope that yourself and others have a great viewing! memtb
