Hello, new to forum, have had camper for 6 months, 4 trips in it. From south Louisiana, it's hot! Was wondering if anybody runs ac off generator while towing to location? Any help or info would be appreciated! Thanks!

We are from SC and travel west and south a lot. We set up, turn the ac on and take the dogs and us for a long walk. Get back and the unit is below outside temp. Get dinner started and enjoy the rest of the cool down.

The class A's and C's run while on the road because the dash air doesn't cool the whole rv. Just be sure your generator location vents the exhaust so it does not get pulled into the trailer or tow vehicle.

In hot weather, I generally run the roof air for an hour or so before stopping for the day.

Hi, I have my generator mounted in the bed of my truck, by the tailgate. I installed a generator inlet on the front of my trailer just for that purpose. This is so I can cool my trailer at rest stops, at boondocking sites, power outages in camp grounds, and to cool my trailer before I get to a camp ground in hot weather.

We've run it with our 5er and our Class A, no issues. We'd fire up the generator on the 5er about 45 minutes from our campsite to cool things off, but we were camping in 95° heat too.

If you can mount the generator safely then yes that would be great.

Not just the generator but the cord also (not so much of an issue with a built in generator)
If traveling in really hot weather, we just open everything up to flush out the hot air. Assuming it's not rainy or dusty, doing it 10-15min before arrival then driving will be even better. Then turn on the air/con.
