We live in a smaller town in south Louisiana.
Based on the traffic on our street fuel could double in price and those going back and forth would still continue.

It looks like an LSU football game traffic. I am sure they all are whining about fuel prices.

Did you ever stop to consider they may not have a choice? Are these people going to work? Or have they decided that they are still going to live their lives and cut expenses elsewhere? We are ALL whining about fuel prices but life still goes on.


I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be Douglas Adams

RV-less for now but our spirits are still on the open road.

Yes I have thought about it and decided they are not paying enough for fuel. They clearly have decided to keep running back and forth and let something else go.
Speak for yourself I am not one who is whining about fuel prices as I understand the causes and have experienced them before. I also worked in the oil patch to put myself through college. Also not whining about school loan debt. When I went if you didn't have the cash you didn't go.

bgum, since you mentioned college, then you must recall college Economics 101 regarding consumer response models, theories, and micro-economic laws. It's one of the requirements under the Humanities.

The gouging is a very ugly part of it IMO. It hurts the people on the lower part of the pay scale in a very harsh way.

Isn't it fun when I have to juggle expenses just to have enough money to travel to the cardiologist? Whenever I outlay expenses I recalculate the balance to reflect the sum available for remaining days in the month. Some months I have to make do with perhaps four dollars and eighty cents for eight days. This is reality not a complaint.

Without a in person survey its just another whining thread whining about whiners whining about high fuel prices.

Folks with jobs or finding groceries or go to the doctor or shuttle the kids to school or dozens of reasons..... has to drive a vehicle...even fixed income or poor people.

Well, if I sat at home watching traffic all day and didn't go anywhere, I wouldn't care about the price of fuel

Are you saying it's the same people making many numerous trips back and forth each day? I would question how you could be possibly spending that much time watch traffic that closely, day in and day out to know that. If however, it's just more traffic now than before, then that's just life going on; more people going to work instead of staying home, going to school, going to the doctors, whatever.

No one likes the price of fuel. What most people like less is cocooning at home and forgoing the activities they want to do because of the fuel prices.

We all have only so many years we can go RVing before health and age force us to park the rigs. I am not going to waste those years worrying in fear over the cost of fuel.

I'll cut back elsewhere and continue to enjoy life.

I'll save fuel when I am in my rocking chair and reliving my adventures through memories.
