Its more than just hype or old news. Tesla has built the platform that will eventually replace the ICE.
It's more of a money,mindset issue than a technical issue at this point. Tesla has established a real live working blueprint for the vehicle itself.
Sure they have...even back into the 1800's EVs were more reliable...probably even more so compared to the ICE of the day. The problem was and still is energy storage.

The truck actually made the destination right? To me that is success. Fail would be rolling in on a tow truck.
I think you are going way off track here to make your point and biases more relevant. I don't believe they used the vehicle in any way that it's owners manual would tell it not to like your silly example of using an F150 to tow a 40ft 5th wheel that is out of its limits. Does it say anything in the owners manual that they have to stay over night somewhere for 12 years to charge?
Does it say they can't let it charge for 6 hours?
They have done similar cross country videos with ICE vehicles and I don't see them doing anything different with this EV other than stopping so many times and waiting to charge. Just because this EV fails to do something just as well or not better than an ICE when they use it in the same manner does not mean that TFL failed(unless you can show me where they used it against the owners manual).
All it means is that the EV is not as good as ICE vehicles in certain areas yet. In other areas like power and efficiency, the EV is better. However, in range, overall time of travel, weight, and ease of extending your range by filling up, the ICE is better.

With two drivers, why did they need to stop at all? I have made many long trips non stop. When not driving I slept. When I was driving, my partner slept. The first question when swapping drivers was "What state are we in"?

Or to put it more succinctly, there are alot of "soft" people in this world... like the one's who just can't fathom that someone could realistically drive so far in so little time and even more so begin to berate those who can and do citing it as "unsafe."

This horrible statement by Lantley cannot go unchallenged:
"It happens fast, keep looking forward not backwards.....nothing behind you but: pay phones, VCR's, DVD's, horse and buggy's, tube TV's,land line phones and ICE's!"
My Amish and "Buggy" Mennonite neighbors from 5 years in South Central Pennsylvania would indeed be shocked that the day of the horse is over. Don't forget Y2K, they were all ready for it.
Also a good friend of 30 years, who in the real world designed Pacemakers and pushed them through FDA approval has the strangest hobby I have ever seen. He designs and builds analog signal processing and devices with TUBES. Even more shocking is that more than a few people share this hobby, they buy/sell/trade tubes. He has a 10X10X8 area in his house filled with this stuff. Some of them are worth hundreds of dollars. By the way, got any old tube equipment you want to give away?
This true story is intended to break some of the tough feelings in this thread. Old tech never dies, but then again I drive a 1948 CJ2A.

We will have to disagree here. They are using the truck the same way they would use and ICE truck. Just because it does not perform the same and adds hours to the trip, does not mean it isn't relevant. In every cross country review and article I have seen of an EV vehicle, they have all added time to trips. Everything has pros and cons, and currently this is a con of EV's. You can't just boast about the pros of your favorite thing and then cry foul or bury your head in the sand when a con is exposed or report on.
