About 8 years ago I coated my 02 Bounder with Zep floor wax and have since reapplied every couple of years. This year it needs to be all removed due to flaking. I am using ZEP floor stripper and its removing the wax easily, however, what was white with the wax on is now yellow once the wax is removed? What can I do to remove the yellow and return it to white again?

You can have a body shop TRY color sanding and see if they can remove the top "yellow" layer of paint and get down to the original white color. This is all assuming that the paint is thick enough to allow color sanding without going through to the body panel primer. Keep in mind that this was a floor wax and there is no telling what damage it may have done to the original paint. A body shop should be able to try a small area to see if it the paint is salvageable.

I have been using Zep Wet Look for several years. I strip and recoat about every 4 years. It really keeps my ol Bounder looking good. I have not experienced any color issues when striping off Zep
Zep wet look is NOT a wax. You have to polish when applying a wax. Zep Wet Look Floor Polish is an acrylic topcoat. No polishing necessary.

I highly doubt an '02 Bounder has full body paint - it would be a white fiberglass sheet so no paint to sand or primer to rub through too.

That said, sanding and buffing might help a little but I fear it's most likely just yellowed with age. Unpainted 20 year old fiberglass won't stay new forever.

There are 24 hours in every day - it all depends on how you choose to use them.

Are you sure you have gotten all of the old ZEP off? Try re-applying the stripper and agitating with a non-abrasive scrubbing pad. My guess is that you still have residual floor finish in addition to yellowing of the Fiberglas with age,

Chast may have hit upon something. I use a green scotch bright when stripping the old coating off.
My 95 Bounder didn't yellow with age............

More than likely the yellowing is from sun exposure and the normal aging of the fiberglass. I stiped off a sun stroked black graphic several years before I started using Zep and there was a stark white shadow where the graphic used to be.
