Finally about done with repainting the ole 86 K20.
First time it's seen daylight in about 18 months.
Got interior to finish re-assembling (new seat, dash, carpet) and all the trim n stuff left to doo.
Mechanically it's ready to roll. Although I do want to re-pack the front bearings. God knows how long that's been...
Hoping to get it road worthy before our boy's 16th Bday next month! It's "his" truck and he's put some good hours into it as well.

Outstanding... Needs the factory pin stripe and the factory chrome door bumper guards at the two tone parting lines.

Looks great, I wish I had the skills to do something like this! Your boy is very fortunate to learn these skills from you! I'm willing to bet that your boy will take better care of that vehicle than most people take care of their generic cars.

I'm on it!
If you notice there's a little test piece of the pinstripe on the back corner. Already have the pinstripe kit and the mouldings ready to go.
Wanted to get the bed on first to make sure they line up.

Thanks! I've seen your work, so if you approve, it must look alright!

It's a garage job though and about 300% more wet sanding required than if I was a good painter and it wasn't 40deg and raining out while I was feebly attempting to keep the shop warm this winter. Temp and humidity killed me when I did the big portions of it.

Thank you sir.
I'm confident he will take care of it. He's pretty pumped and proud of it.
We'll see how much he retained I know he's retained that he doesn't like scraping or sanding!
Not sure if I'd call it luck or more work, but we scraped all the paint off of the old primer with razor blades it wasn't bonded well enough to keep and wasn't peeling or thick multiple coats or anything that would warrant more aggressive treatment like blasting or those paint stripper drums.
Nice part was the sheetmetal didn't get beat up during prep and the truck doesn't have multiple coats of paint on it.
