I don't know about that? There are several people on this very forum that think there will be a Semi out any day that will haul 80 thousand lbs and go 621 mile on some sort of magical pixie dust LI battery.
If that happens, an electric pickup that tows 20K gross for 750 miles should be a piece of cake.
Maybe Ford doesn't have the magical pixie dust that another prominent EV manufacture has? But yet again, Ford actually has an EV pickup that can at least go to Home Depo and pick up a few 2x4's and a few bags of concrete without using a drop of gas. That's something at least?

And some day they will. But not today or tomorrow or in the near future. Probably not in my lifetime. But the day will come.

Maybe, maybe not. My point is there is a thread on this forum that is currently 376 pages long. One of the forum members posts weekly, or more on how the Semi is coming along any minute. Several people said 2019 was when the magic Semi was going to roll down the road and kill the bad dino oil semi." Well, it's 2022 and I keep on hearing it's going to be made "soon."
Soon has been going on for years and years, and years and...
The fact is LI batteries put out about 10% the energy of gasoline counterpart. Right there says LI batteries will NEVER make it for a long haul Semi.

I don't know what the future of EV hold s, especially as it pertains to towing.
However I certainly would not jump to the conclusion that real EV towing will not occur in my lifetime. I have seen to many changes and lots of technology change our lives on a daily basis. Lots of things can happen in 30 years

That is not true. If you search through the Tesla semi thread, there are numerous posts by a few that even posted in this thread regarding EV towing and how well EV's towed. Some even commented how well their Tesla truck will tow when they get it. They also start new EV threads constantly in a "TOW VEHICLE" forum yet cry foul when an EV is put to the test and used in the same manner as an ICE tow vehicle.
Problem is, they only want to hear the good or positives about EV's and anything negative, even if it is true, is viewed as trolling even though they continue to troll the Tesla Semi thread with false pictures and misinformation. They also continue to post about EV's in "TOW VEHICLE" forum(yes, I meant to mention that twice). Don't start new EV threads in this forum if you don't want them compared and their weaknesses pointed out.
As I said before in other threads, EV's have their pros and cons and this is one of the cons. You can't tout their pros and cry foul when someone mentions their cons.
In regards to the video, TFL should have chosen the GM 3.0L diesel if their goal was to show the best towing distance with that size of trailer.

Telling the truth about the ability of EV's as towing vehicles is EV bashing? They aren't ready for prime time towing. Live with it.
