The road was more scenic and less patrolled that the interstate. Suffice it to say that there is reason that many people cling to the interstate. 209 goes through small towns (Like Jim Thorpe) and there are traffic lights and people turning left. It is(was) kind of a pretty road. I don't recall is it saved enough miles as opposed to the interstates that it was worth the effort.
