We are ready to head to Montana next week, from Alberta and today I found out that my battery is pretty much toast,

Deep cycle batteries run about at about $175- $190 dollars here in Canada.
Just curious what the cost is on the in the US? It might be cheaper for me to get one at Costco or any other place.

When I do a Google search nothing comes up because I’m in Canada.

You can get a decent Group 27 for a little less than US$100. Walmart is about the cheapest. Little better battery in the Diehard at Autozone for right at US$100

A Little over 100$ American at O Reillys and autozone. The deep cycles have not gone up much here, but the automotive starting batteries sure have. Pushing 200$ before tax for the good ones, with 22$ core refund. Had AAA replace one a while back for a car and cost 200$. Not long ago was ~150$. Really gone up just like Tires. (and everybody needs those items if you own a car!)

Walmart also sells the larger Group 31 size for right around that same price - Well worth it, if you can squeeze it into your particular battery compartment.

If you're willing to spend the extra money on an AGM battery, O'Reilly Auto Parts sells a "Super Start" Group 31 AGM battery for around $260 (including the $22 "core charge").

It's made by East Penn (the same company that makes DEKA batteries) - They have a pretty decent reputation for build quality.

That's was probably a Battleborn, pricy but well made. For the equivalent of the Walmart battery in Lithium see Amazon, you can get a 100Ah 12V lithium for about $300.

If you have the room take a look at the cost of a PAIR of GC-2 Golf car batteries.. Over twice the storage. About 3 times (or more) the usable power. and not that much more $$$

Li are not a good option for Edmonton. Too cold in winter time.

SiO2 are about $700.00 Cnd. They do about 2500 cycles to 50% or 1500 cycles to 20% state of charge. They can be discharged to dead over 600 times.

Golf cart are available in USA for a lower price than in Canada.

Have a wonderful and safe trip.
