Not thinking as well as I should have.
Twin sons ea have $1500-2000+ in Milwaukee lithium power tools they use as home remodel/new construction superintendents.

Spouses driving habits an EV or hybrid would work. Older sister likes her BMW EV.
They have a place. Not sure that are ready for primetime use by everyone for another at least 5 years, maybe in 10-20 years.

Rigid, well you may as well have gone to Harbor Freight. Love these Companies that use the "NAME" to sell SHITE.
Milwaukee mostly CHICOM anymore. DeWalt has many US Made tools and I have a 20V 1/2" drill impact combo that has been great for 8 years with a lot of Commercial hard use.

A friends 150k Tesla lasted one day. Imagine loosing control and reaching for the part of the steering wheel that is missing! STUPID design. Walked away unscathed. Took out 50' of block wall.

WOW! By the pictures it looks like a dry residential street. The driver lost control? And it is the fault of the shape of steering wheel?

Not to mention the friend could of had the driving skills of an idiot to begin with lol.
I could however see, after many years of driving with a round steering wheel, grabbing for it in a microsecond reaction to something.

I tryed to get the Cadillac but they sold out to employees before going to their list of potential buyers. They sent me emails asking if I wanted a 2024. At 75 I don't order cars 2 years in advance. I will try for the Blazer. I don't want a little car they are to hard to get in and out of for us older folks. Bu7ild it and I'll buy it. I did lease a Volt once that was a great little car gas over electric. but rarely needed the gas in the city and free charging at the casino.

I do wonder how many Tesla fires would be prevented if these amateurs would drive safely.

So I didn’t know some models have a yoke vs a steering wheel. That’s a horrible idea in consumer applications.
And to top it off, from what I read, it still rotates like traditional steering? I think. Even worse.
Or maybe not, if any of you have driven actual yoke style steering, like in a loader, it’s not intuitive at first. Even low speed.
Of course the guy who creamed his new car into the fence did something wrong. Unless claiming steering failure.
But horrible idea even for good or great drivers. Recipe for disaster for the average or worse driver. Almost akin to switching the gas and brake pedals around.

Well the point of this thread has been achieved. Most of the Cali save the whales club has responded and no mention of using or even considering an EV for a tow rig. Except Mr. Reisender of course.
Some good discussion about cordless tools. A few put put commuter mobiles. Etc.
Heck, the yappers don’t even own Teslas. Plenty of them out there for sale.
A lot of mouth going around for those that aren’t putting their money there…
