A couple charging questions, Riesender, are Tesla chargers a universal rate cost wise? Or does it vary regionally.
Does anybody know how things are supposed to work with all the chargers WE THE PEOPLE are installing? Are we paying for Electrify America to have a bunch of new sites? Who is supposed to manage and maintain them? Of course nobody has mentioned anything about a discount since we all paid for the facility.

Hello Stsmark. It varies regionally as well as time of day in some places. So for example peak hour timing is more expensive than after 9 etc. The cheapest charging is done at home which is why over 90 percent of charging of EV’s is done there. It varies but for example, for us it is 8 times cheaper for us to charge at home than a tesla V3 250 kw supercharger and about 5 times cheaper than a BC hydro 50 kw dc fast charger. Of course on a road trip you have no choice, you have to charge at public or private facilities for a fee. It’s all good. Still a lot cheaper than gas.
Sorry I can’t speak to the second half of your question as I’m not informed on that. As well the answers are also likely to be very regional as well.
Hope that helps.

It's interesting and educational reading and can be a financial boon to local governments and regions. There are a number of grant and loan programs available to local leaders.
And yes, We the People are installing these. These contracts will go to local installers and businesses and the revenue from them will go to the local city/county/locality if that's how you're local leaders set it up.
Learn and get involved. These projects always have periods set aside for local comment and input.

Hi Again Mark. We put up a thread of our latest trip. Most of it is pictures of the trip but there are some EV specific pics and stats at the end that you may find interesting re consumption etc.
Here is the link.

The president of Toyota Motor Corporation said this week that adhering to California’s plan to ban gas emission vehicles will be "difficult" to achieve, and battery powered cars will take longer to phase in than the "mainstream media" believes.
"Realistically speaking, it seems rather difficult to really achieve them," Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda told reporters through a translator on Thursday discussing California’s new mandates.
"But just like the fully autonomous cars that we were all supposed to be driving by now, BEVs are just going to take longer to become mainstream than the media would like us to believe," Toyoda told car dealers at the event.
Toyota sells the most cars in California than another auto maker and average price of an EV is $66,000.00 according to recent business news on Google, Fox, etc.

I see you consistently like to post and not engage with discussion.....
For everyone else...
Toyota is way behind in their BEV development and production and put there resources in hybrids...so his comments may be a little self serving. But, I agree the California mandate is crazy and will likely change at some point.

Those folks may drive gassers for the obvious reasons but that doesn't mean they are "very content." But since you "Will not be viewing any further comments" I guess you'll continue to be mistaken.

I don’t know why oil corporation’s are standing by and not perfecting hydrogen fuel refining and distribution. Every automobile manufacturer has hydrogen powered vehicles ready to go to market at considerably lower cost and pollution free.
