I-15 or I-215 Question

No camper on this trip, but I'm not travelling in the Midwest this time.

Driving from Las Vegas, NV down to San Diego, CA later this week. Would it be better to take I-215 rather than I-15 to avoid potential traffic, mud slides, fires, or whatever else seems to be happening around that area? I know 215 would be a bit longer and hooks back up to 15 further south, but we have some extra time so that's not a problem. Just trying to keep moving forward.

Thanks!

I do that route one a month. I almost always stay 15 but I ALWAYS check to see what maps says. Definitely avoid commute times. I would also caution not to attempt to go that way on a sunday after 10am or before 9pm.

I would stay 15 unless Google Maps directed me around for an unforeseeable hazard.

Any given day, undeterminable. Check just before you leave.

It's SoCal... you're going to have traffic on both depending on the time of day, and you're not exactly in the outskirts on I-215...

Whatever Google Maps is showing for better time and fewer backups is what I'd go with.
