Can you actually say "crabby snotty people" without getting a suspension or a total ban now a days? [emoticon]

The way people are getting lately just about every thing offends someone. I agree we used to be able to get some good info, but I've noticed fewer new people on her and less older one posting like they used to.

We were in Oregon last year, and stopped at a second-hand store. They had hoodies for sale: the men's hoodie says "Crabby Bastard" on the back and the women's hoodie says "Crabby witch (with a B)" on the back. The wife and I each bought one and we enjoy wearing them - especially around people who might get offended by them!

(Interestingly - the forum software is fine with the men's one, but censored the women's one!)

I joined a brand-specific group on Facebook; but still come here for the ageless wealth of information. Through the years I've run into a couple of grumps who contribute nothing helpful, so I simply block them :-)

I love the wide array of topics available on RV.net, like specific info on routes and places to stay. Towing advice; and who makes the best toads. As a dog owner, I appreciate the updates on pet health issues. I'd really hate to lose this forum.

Lots of good info has been posted and will be posted on RV.net....however, the forum is pretty clunky for technical stuff (i.e. posting pictures and for searching) and the Faceborg monster has an ever increasing set of fora (?) that are easier to use and that often has as much or more information. It used to be that it only took a bit of reading (on any board or forum here) to figure out who had valid information to offer, who had valid information but it would be accompanied by baggage, and who had invalid information. It seems that now the valid information is buried pretty deep below the baggage and the invalid information.....and it also appears that an increasing % of the readers can't let bogus be bogus but feel compelled to yell and scream about it. <<< which of course prompts a similar reaction from the posters of bogus.

The forum is still good, but it's not as beneficial as it once was.

"Why are other social commenting places going like crazy and not here?" Even compared to other forums, this one is difficult to navigate. Ever try to post a photo? Young folks like their photos and videos.

I've noticed several members saying "hard to post pics. Not sure if that's due to an old way they posted pics here years ago?

It's actually quite easy to post pics using the rvnet photo posting!

AFAIK, a video post is not available here?

If you will follow these directions exactly, it is very easy to post pictures on our forums. One of our moderators, 1492, developed this photo posting app to post your pictures. It works for other internet sites also. There is no need to have a separate hosting site for your pictures in order to use it.

It is very simple to use. Follow these directions exactly.
1. Upload your picture from your computer to the app.
2. Copy the resulting URL.
3. Paste that URL into your post without ANY changes. No additions or deletions.
Your picture will then appear in your post and be properly sized for use on our forums.[emoticon]

Note: Norton Lifelock does not like the site for some reason. I, and others, use it regularly without issue. When I get the red "Dangerous Webpage Blocked" message I just click on "continue to the site" down at the bottom and everything is ok. Have been doing this since 2014.

Dear Barney,
I hate to tell you, but you are not reaching us "dummies". Without knowing how to post pictures and diagrams, we simply can't have the enjoyment and satisfaction that we enjoyed when we were using Photobucket (many moons ago).
In 1980 I used a Kodak DCA265 Zoom camera that came with a "driver" disc which you loaded into your desk top computer, then you simply connected a camera cable to the computer and transfer the pictures into "my pictures" in the computer. Then, it was easy to transfer whichever pictures you wanted into Photobucket. Each picture had 4 selections from which to pick depending on what you wanted to do with the picture. It was a snap to select the one you wanted to paste in your forum post. I helped other members and got lots of enjoyment.
NOW, I have a dandy-modern desk top computer, and a apple 10 iphone. Yeah, I can take pictures. But, too ignorant to follow your instructions. HELP

As someone who has seen “stolen” photographs being sold I wonder who “owns” the photo uploaded via the RV.net photo app and is there support for those who own the copyright?

I use Imgur and it works similarly to Photobucket. If you can use Photobucket, you can use Imgur.

The app uses Imgur and the photos are governed by their rules.

I too used Photobucket for years but to post a photo on our website was a whole lot more involved than it is now using the app designed by our Technology forum moderator 1492. You could not post a url directly into your post from Photobucket without using the picture posting icon. This is what many members could not understand because it was so convoluted. It also did not automatically size the picture to our forum guidelines forcing moderators to spend many hours re-sizing pictures.

All you do in his app is upload your picture, copy the url that results, and paste it into your post. Could not be simpler than that. Your picture will appear and be properly sized. You don't use the picture posting icon in the small boxes above the large dialog box at all.
Barney
