Thanks, I will take a look for that vent. And I did think about rotating the top port more toward the opening, but just wanted it done and over with. It still blows my mind that it had lefthand threads. I don't mind any of y'all being picky, I'm learning a lot about this thing

Thanks to all!

Looks close!
Regulator vent should be facing down. I cannot see it in photo. Regulators come in horizontal or vertical vent locations.
The Extends-a flow would have better access if rotated to make it easier to make connections.
I am being picky!
Was it easier to get off knowing it was left-handed thread?

Thought I should post a pic of final install. The fitting between the regulator and 4-port could be a little shorter. And the fitting between the 4-port and valve needs to be a little longer (not enough room for a flare wrench, duh)

Now I need to start testing the appliances.

Well, that was a little aggravating not having the right tools, but it's done.

Learned that the propane system uses lefthand threads on one end and right hand threads on the other.

The correct size wrench for LP connections is a good set of channel locks.

That no matter what you buy on Amazon, you'll still need to go to the hardware store at least twice, once to buy everything you think you need, and second, to take back what you really didn't need.

And usually I never throw away parts till way after the job is finished, but this time I did. I could have used a fitting, that I thought I already had.

Now on to testing the stove, fridge, water heater and furnace.

The water pump will be in a few days, that will be most of those parts.

as stated above it's a left hand thread at the tank. In your picture you should be pulling up on the wrench to loosen.

Checked mine, It is 7/8 inch. You shouldn't need flare wrench. Standard wrench or adjustable wrench. Your is damaged by looks in photo. May need small pipe wrench, then replace.

OMG, that is tight! Regulator and solenoid are too close to the tank to unscrew. Shot a little wd-40 on it and tapped it a little bit. I'll come back later I've got something else to work on.

Those detectors have a life span, and should be replaced, I think its like 8 years mine has a "replace by" date on it.

Is the Manuel valve at the tank on?

Yes, there is a manual valve on the tank.

After turning on the detector, I opened the manual valve and tried to light the pilot on the stove top. After a minute I turned the gas off.

I was hoping to hear the solenoid click when turning the power off/on on the detector but did not hear or feel anything.

I like the idea of removing the solenoid and getting a new sniffer.

Let's see how that goes.
