Yes, all DP's have shocks.
No standard answer to how long they last:
Were the OE shocks "least expensive bid" or "best available"?
How many miles on them? Mostly smooth roads or rough ones?
Best to TEST THEM:
Drive over regular shopping center speed bumps at regular/low speeds. If an axle bounces more than 1.5 times replace the shocks.

Sounds like a reasonable test. What would be a good replacement brand? I have 90,000 mi.on my 2006 travel supreme.

I changed mine after a couple of years for what I consider better performing ones. OEM were too harsh
