The attention whoores who made that YooToob about their pickup trucks sound like that guy comparing insurance rates of one model to the trim level of another….clueless.
But more power to em. Marketing still works and someone’s gotta go buy those new trucks!
18mo from now, suppose the fuel price gap closes, guy gets sick of only having 40% of the torque he usta have and the next video will be of their dog slobbering all over the back seat of another $100k truck as they drive it to the dealer to trade for a diesel!

If I were buying a new truck primarily for towing and/or hauling I would most likely buy diesel. But if the truck was primarily used as a daily driver with occasional towing/hauling it would be gas. Bought my first diesel in 2004 when diesel was still less than gas. Shortly after diesel moved higher and has rarely be less than gas since. And certainly not in a number of years. A few months ago diesel was as much as $1.80 to $2.00 higher than gas. Back down to a more "reasonable" $1.10-$1.20 or so more now. ![doh [emoticon]](https://forums.goodsamclub.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/doh.gif)
Diesel may get 20-30% better fuel mileage towing/hauling but I haven't seen near that for daily driving, whether highway, city, or combo.

Funny when I reported my findings keeping track of brand of truck towing RV's or anything else that were independently operated I was slammed as it was just what "I was seeing". So FISH I think it's just what "you are SEEING".

Went from a 2015 Hemi to a 2020 Cummins. Tow a 14k toy hauler in the wind and mountains of Montana.
Hemi made 11-14 mpg solo and 4-7 towing.
Diesel makes 16-20 solo and 8-12 towing.
Diesel levels the hills both up and down. Exhaust brake is awesome.
Won't be going back to a gas to tow with any time soon.

I watched for 5 minutes, but couldn’t bring myself to waste an entire 20 minutes on this.
I’m never one to give much credence to anecdotal statements about what is selling or what isn’t. As I am generally interested, I’d love to see real sales numbers of what the breakdown is of diesel vs gas in HD trucks (as well as 2500 vs 3500 sales). I know you used to be able to find that, but I haven’t seen it in a while.
The truck that they bought is a pretty truck. But I really can’t see buying a DRW with a gasser. I hope they are happy with their purchase. I wouldn’t be.

I see a lot of Ram 4500/5500 Ram Hemi powered trucks. Just seen a fairly new Ram 4500 flat bed with a welder on the back with a Hemi badge on the fender just a few minutes ago. A few years ago Ram HD's were essentially all Cummins powered, but I've seen this trend towards gas for a few years now.
Which leads to the next question. Since there rumors that the Hemi is going out to the pasture what gas engine will Ram utilize? Gas powered Cummins that soon will be released?
Cummins is developing a 6.7 gas engine and Ford designed and released a big block 7.3 for a reason.
