It appears from the video this is not the first engine with this issue.
As long as its not my truck its no big deal.
But if this were my truck is would be a HUGE deal.

As far as drama and views, it's the world we live in.
Video only attracts attention when it's a worthwhile issue.
Don't shoot the messenger.
But you can't base the severity of the problem on a single yewboob video. They need eyes, and will do what's necessary to get them.

I more or less ask the question earlier as to how big of issue is this?
Is poor engineering and are materials not strong enough, or is a bad batch of cams or lifters? What is failing first the lifter or the cam, one bad surface will damage the surface it rides on.

From my understanding this supposedly a relatively small problem, but nothing really firm.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a metallurgy problem and I would be surprised if the lifters or the raw materials come from China.

"I would be surprised if the lifters or the raw materials come from China."

"would" or "wouldn't"?

This kind of statement always makes me scratch my head. For 1 thing, any reply to contrary will likely be deleted as political, but try anyway.
What possible reason would Ford have to use material or parts from China?

Since I'm still waiting on Ford to come clean on the 6.0 PSD debacle or even own up to the fuel system warranty claim denials. Does anyone rember member Ricatic's story?
I will wait for Ford to announce that the 7.3 Godzilla may have a problem. Because I know I can count on Ford to own up to their mistakes!

Ricatic moved his truck to another dealer before a Ford field tech could look at it. Once that truck was moved it was red flagged by the original dealer and then it was game over.

Did GM or Ram ever come clean on their lifter failures? Obviously not since they're still occurring.

Glad we can always count on the Ford Marketing Arm on RV.net to change the subject and deflect to a claim of problems of other manufacturers. Some things are as predictable as death and taxes. Nothing to see here…..
