Looks like RAM is full in on the EV movement. One thing interesting is RAM followed Fords design logic in that their EV truck looks similar to their ICE truck, unlike GM made their EV trucks looks totally different than their ICE trucks.

Dodge and Ford have over a century of building trucks, customer feedback. They know what people want. They figured out that replacing engine and gas tank with electric motors and huge battery does not require a design change.

I agree. As popular as bed covers are, at least in this area, I can't see too many people wanting a bed profile like the Chevy EV, unless they can come up with some special type cover to account for those wings at the front corners of the bed. I never liked that bed style on the Chevy ICE trucks and you don't see many of them around here.

And GM just made another suv with a pickup bed that will never fit the bill as an actual pickup truck, unlike the Ford and Ram. Slightly different target markets I guess. Chevy is apparently marketing to the soccer mom crowd moreso than the other 2.

Interesting, 8 bolt axles/wheels and 2700 lbs. of payload. 14k tow capacity.
Also, the airbag suspension, I assume, probably has a "low-rider" mode which reduces drag to extend range on the freeway.
Pretty impressive. It'll be very interesting to see how far it can tow 14k though.

Suppose to get 500 miles on one charge. May be true or marketing hype. I wonder if that is in warm or cold weather and including pulling heavy trailer in the mountains doing truck work. Just curious. Cheers to Ram. 4 Dodge Ram truck owner here.

Most car manufactures use EPA test conditions for listing range. In Europe they use NEDC test conditions. Asia uses WLTP. I don’t believe any of them test towing range. That is heavily affected by speed, trailer profile (width and height and shape) and to a lesser extent weight.

I read about the Ram EV on the Fox News app. Comments were hilarious - and mostly negative about towing range and charge time.

More EV the better bring it on.
However I see few problems.
Bed is too short.
And IF you put camper or cap on it you wont be able to open those fender storage bins.
