I'm just wonder how cost effective it is to use a 2500 diesel to pull a 7,000 lbs trailer.
I agree it's probably not, but I typically keep my vehicles a long time and it will allow us the ability to upgrade the trailer if we want down the road. We also plan on taking really long trips out west and we figured we can use the power. Also Ram is offering an extra incentive for the diesel and I'm told that diesel trucks hold their valve better.

Well look at this way, you would be better off with a 3500 SRW than a 2500 diesel.
So true!!!

I thought an update was in order. Well the local dealer is standing firm on $60,695 for the 2017 Laramie Longhorn....so I've moved on.
If I have to pay approximately $60K (hopefully less) for a truck, I'd rather by one that's not been sitting around 2 years. So right now I'm working with a another dealer, just a little further away and I'm seriously considering purchasing one of his 2018 Diesel 2500 Laramies. I considered waiting for the 2019 but I'm always leery about purchasing a new revamped model and I figured that they'd be getting top dollar for them, but they sure look nice!
